Good branding is my love language.
Here’s how a liquor store inspired this train of thought…
On the weekend, my girlfriend and I were window shopping in Avalon, and walked into this cute little liquor store. She, a designer, said this shop has SO many cute branding items and products. Obviously we obliged.
It was filled floor to ceiling, all walls, covered in great wine labels, cute products and standout packaging. If I'm honest, it was all competing for my attention because I felt drawn to so many different things.
I had this feeling, but you know when you see a brand that just gets it? The kind that feels effortlessly cool and polished, reminiscent of a greater story and you just know it's undeniably them? And so, naturally, I had to write about it.
That’s the magic of good branding, and I'm dubbing it the new love language. Because it's certainly mine.
To help you achieve ALL of that, that's where I come in. With a BRAND NEW offering, "Overlooked to Undeniable", you'll be able to reach that level of boldness you've been looking for.
Designed to take your story and transform your brand from the inside out for clarity and confidence without missing a beat.
Branding isn’t just about aesthetics — we all know this. it’s about connection, trust and leaving a lasting impression. It’s the difference between a business that blends into the background and one that becomes absolutely unforgettable.
So if good branding is a love language, here’s how I’m expressing it — and how you can too.
Love at First Sight: The power of first impressions
First impressions matter. Your brand is often the first thing people experience about your business, whether it’s your logo, website, social media or even the way you communicate. If your visuals and messaging feel all over the place, you risk losing potential clients before they even give you a chance.
Quick Tip: Make sure your branding is instantly recognisable across every touchpoint — social media, website, emails, packaging. Consistency is key!
The Little Things Matter: Cohesion and attention to detail
Just like in relationships, it’s the small things that make a difference. The way your colour palette works together, the tone of your brand voice, the way your fonts and visuals create a certain feeling — these details build trust and make your brand feel intentional.
A well-designed brand isn’t just about looking good, it’s about creating an emotional connection with your audience. People want to feel something when they interact with your business. And when done right, branding evokes emotion in the best way possible.
Quick Tip: Think of your brand as a mood. What feelings do you want people to associate with it? Confident? Playful? Elegant? Make sure every design choice supports that vibe.
Acts of Service: Serving your audience with clarity
One of the biggest misconceptions about branding is that it’s just a logo. Nope. Good branding makes things easier — for you and your audience. It helps people instantly understand who you are, what you do and why they should care.
If your brand messaging is confusing, potential clients won’t stick around trying to figure it out. Your brand should be like a warm invitation that says, “Hey, I see you. I understand you. I’ve got exactly what you need.”
Quick Tip: Make sure your brand’s messaging is clear and direct. If someone lands on your Instagram or website, can they tell within seconds what you offer and who it’s for? Do they feel connected and engaged with your message?
Quality Time: Investing in your brand for long-term success
Building a brand takes time, but it’s worth the investment. Too many business owners jump from one aesthetic to another, constantly tweaking their logo or switching colours because they don’t feel aligned. That’s usually a sign that their brand wasn’t built with strategy in mind.
Good branding isn’t just about what looks good today — it’s about creating something that will serve your business for years to come. When your branding is done right, you don’t have to keep reinventing the wheel. You can show up consistently and focus on what you do best.
Quick Tip: Stop tweaking your branding every few months. Instead, invest in a solid, strategic brand identity that you can confidently stick with (cough cough, I can help!).
Words of Affirmation: Let your brand speak for you
Your brand should be doing the heavy lifting for you. It should attract the right clients, communicate your value, and build trust—all before you even hop on a sales call.
If your branding doesn’t feel like you, or if it’s not speaking directly to your ideal clients, it’s time for at least a brand audit, but also potentially a rebrand. Because when your branding is strong and aligned, it does the work for you. And that’s the ultimate love language, right?
Quick Tip: Ask yourself — does my brand truly reflect the business I want to be known for? If not, it’s time to make some changes.
So… is your brand actually doing its job?
Or is it just taking up space?
